First AME Welcomes
Rev. Juliet Ken-Hempill
During the 5th Episcopal District Annual Planning conference that concluded Sunday, the bishop tapped the Rev. Juliet Kent-Hemphill of Bethel AME Church in Yakima, Washington to fill the pulpit at First AME Church Indio, Ca.

Outgoing minister Rev. Timothy Coston returned to First AME to say goodbye.

Rev. Ken-Hampill has been very involved in sacred and spiritual health. Along with 100 other religious leaders, she participated in a pastoral training at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital designed to better equip them in helping members of their congregations who are hospitalized or in hospice care.

Bethel AME Church also partnered with Memorial Hospital to host a free community health workshop.

With an eye on health and wellness, Rev. Ken-Hemphill, said the workshop focused not only on physical health but mind and spirit health as well.
